Ronald Wilson of Trenton died on his way to the hospital after going into cardiac arrest.
Police say the 38-year-old was leaving the scene of an auto accident on Saturday night when officers tried to get his attention. Wilson turned and struck the officers and a scuffle ensued.
Police say Wilson was being transported by ambulance because of injuries he sustained while resisting arrest when he went into full cardiac arrest.
Trenton PD's internal affairs and criminal investigation bureau are investigating.
