No arrests in naked bike ride

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - March 10, 2008

And they were on bikes.

But they weren't under arrest.

Police in Eugene, Oregon, decided not to bust people taking part in Saturday night's naked bike ride.

Officers were preparing to bust Cassandra Hurd, who was wearing only panties.

But a crowd gathered and chanted for police to let her go.

Officials say the officers wanted to avoid a confrontation, so they decided not to complete the arrest.

About 100 people felt the breeze on their knees, and everywhere else, during the nude bike ride.
