Kathy Griffin: Ordained minister

NEW YORK (AP) - March 10, 2008

Now Kathy Griffin has appeared in the unlikely new role of minister. The comedian, who ticked off Christian groups by joking about Jesus while accepting an Emmy last September, has been ordained through an online church.

She was picked to officiate at the wedding of two fans this past weekend in New York.

She told the Daily News, when the request came in, "how could I say no?" You should be able to see the ceremony in June, when it's in an episode of her Bravo show "My Life on the D-List."

Griffin is quoted as saying she may be ordained but her role in the wedding was a one-night-only performance.
