Sample beer and wine before you buy

Soon, they maybe able to sample it, too.

State lawmakers have approved a pilot program to allow beer and wine tasting in 30 grocery stores statewide.

It's an effort to market local products and the bill is now headed to the governor.

The state's microbreweries and vintners want potential customers to be able to sample their products.

Supporters say the beer and wine tastings will help small businesses with no marketing budget.

But opponents counter that supermarket wine and beer tastings would set a bad example for kids.
