Giving a new wrinkle to its gum

Wrigley is giving a new wrinkle to its gum.

Stick gums, including Doublemint, Juicy Fruit, Big Red and Extra brands, are getting package and flavor makeovers.

The bulky packs of foil-wrapped sticks will be replaced by a slim 15-stick flat-pack envelope.

The side-by-side packaging is similar to that used by Wrigley's new "5" brand.

The Chicago-based company announced the gum changes at its annual shareholders meeting.

Officials of the company say the new gum packages will easily fit in a pocket and attract young customers.
