The 28-ounce cans are on sale in Super Foodtown markets in Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties. Later, they'll be more widely distributed.
The tomatoes come from six Garden State farms and are packed by New Jersey's only remaining tomato processor, Violet Packing.
The state has long promoted "Jersey Fresh" produce through supermarket displays, restaurant menu listings and advertising.
