Corzine holds citizen roundtable

PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - March 15, 2008 Corzine hosted about a dozen people for a round-table discussion at the governor's mansion Saturday.

They were selected based on suggestions they sent to the governor's Web site. More than 1,800 suggestions were received in all.

Among the recommendations: Round up all sales to the next dollar and use the extra pennies for education; shut down state government on Fridays, and hold a concert to raise revenues.

Corzine has proposed nearly $3 billion in cuts that would affect state funding for property tax rebates, cities and towns, hospitals, nursing homes, state colleges and universities and health care.
