The Senate has approved fining motorists who fail to remove ice and snow from vehicles before driving. It voted 35-0 on Monday to allow fines ranging from $25 to $75.

Drivers would have a year to comply once the law is enacted.

AAA Clubs of New Jersey says 67 percent of its drivers support the proposed law.

The Assembly hasn't considered it yet.
