It wasn't a bomb that turned up

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - March 17, 2008

An employee at the law firm of Haller and Colvin in Fort Wayne, Indiana, called 911 after finding a suspicious package in the mail.

The police bomb squad used a robot to carry the box outside.

X-rays showed no signs of an explosive, but officers didn't want to take any chances.

They used a water cannon to deactivate whatever might have been inside.

It turns out it was just a raw turnip wrapped in lettuce-green tissue paper.

Authorities aren't sure who was supposed to get the vegetable.
