Greetings cards behind bars

LOS ANGELES (AP) - March 25, 2008

Attorney Terrye Cheathem founded the L.A. company Three Squares Greetings. Cheathem says she came up with the idea when her brother-in-law served 11 months in prison.

She adds she couldn't find a card that was appropriate to send.

Some of her cards are sweet: "We are all praying for you while you do your time." Others are more to the point.

One Christmas card reads, in part: "You had the choice to be 'naughty or nice.' And you chose ... Oh well, now you have to do your time." The cards are sold online and in a handful of stores.
