Investigators tell Action News that the train was headed east through Pleasantville. The train had its lights and horn on as it began crossing route 9, near the Black Horse Pike.
A car was stopped for the train when the tow truck driver allegedly tried to beat the train through the crossing. The truck didn't make it.
The train plowed into the back of the truck, causing it to spin and strike three pedestrians. The pedestrians suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
We're also told the tow truck driver and a woman in the truck sustained minor injuries.
The tow truck driver is expected to receive several summons.
