Gagne hasn't played since Feb. 10 against Pittsburgh and was advised by a concussion specialist to sit out the rest of the season. Gagne said he was feeling better and his symptoms were almost gone.
"I'm going in the right direction like I want," he said. "I'm sure I'd like to be 100 percent right away, but I know it's going to take time. We've got a long period of time in front of me before I start playing again."
Gagne had his first concussion Oct. 24 when he was hit in the jaw by Panthers defenseman Jay Bouwmeester. He sat out four games, then was hurt again Nov. 7 and missed the next 26 games. He was injured again on his first shift in a Feb. 10 loss at Pittsburgh and hasn't played since.
Gagne likely won't have to worry about a comeback this season. The Flyers are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
