Wrong queen crowned

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. (AP) - March 28, 2008

Officials of the Rhododendron Festival in Washington state say they crowned the wrong beauty as their queen.

A computer glitch is blamed for scoring mistakes that named Dana Perkins as queen instead of her high school classmate, Chelsea Benner.

Festival officials say the pageant records will now show that both reigned as festival queen last year.

Officials also tell the Peninsula Daily News that both young women will get the $1,500 scholarship money that goes along with the title.
