Chester Police baffled by suspicious deaths

CHESTER, Pa. - March 30, 2008 Investigators still don't know what killed the victims.

Amanda Scone still can't believe her best friend, Lindsay Cassidy is dead. "She was my best friend and I loved her," says Scone.

Cassidy, her 3-year-old son, Colby, and a young couple, who hasn't been identified, were found dead last night in a 2nd floor apartment. Amanda says the couple were roommates of Cassidy's. "I don't know much about (the couple). I know Lindsay was friends with her for 10 years."

What Amanda does know is that her friend loved her son. She says Cassidy moved to the apartment a couple weeks ago, mainly because it was remodeled and would be good for the little boy.

The discovery was made around 7:45 Saturday night when a relative called police to the apartment in the 900 block of Keystone Road. Police had to force their way into the apartment. Once inside, they found 4 bodies in separate rooms.

The tragedy has Amanda and others baffled. Police say there was no sign of forced entry to the apartment, no visible signs of trauma to the bodies, and the fire department has ruled out carbon monoxide.

At this point police are awaiting the coroner's report to determine the cause of death.
