Carjacking tip -- if the vehicle won't start, get out before you get locked in.

A man from Iowa was arrested and charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into a truck and getting locked inside.

The owner of the Ford Explorer says the man couldn't get out because the SUV has an anti-theft device that activates when the battery loses power.

He says the would-be robber wore down the battery trying to start the Explorer and became locked inside.

The man damaged the dashboard trying to escape, but he was still inside the truck when the owner and police arrived.
