New Castle County Police have arrested a 14 year old male for the knife point robbery of a 20 year old Newark area man. Officers responded to the unit block of Thistleberry Drive at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday and arrived to find the 20 year old victim unharmed but terribly shaken.

The victim had just entered his car and was preparing to pull away when an unknown male entered his vehicle on the passenger's side. The suspect displayed a knife, and ordered the victim to surrender his money. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and a cigarette lighter.

The victim described the suspect as being a young black male in his teens, with a heavy accent. Officers were able to develop 14 year old Alpha Sow as a suspect. Officers responded to the 400 block of Nona Lane and made contact with Sow at his home.

Sow was found with the victim's property, and was linked to this crime. Sow was charged with first degree robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Sow was arraigned and then committed the New Castle County juvenile detention when he was unable to post $11,000 bail.
