This intruder is a real turkey

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (AP) - April 7, 2008

And the crook was a real birdbrain.

Ottawa County, Michigan, Deputy Sarah Flick was dispatched to investigate a report of a suspected intruder in a home.

Flick says she shouted for the bad guy to surrender before releasing her police dog.

Flick tells The Grand Rapids Press she could hear banging on the walls and the dog growling.

But when the deputy kicked in a bedroom door she found some ruffled feathers.

A wild turkey to be exact, which had apparently broken a window and flown into the house.

The homeowner says her husband was out of town, getting ready for Michigan's spring turkey hunting season.
