Skybus files for bankruptcy
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - April 7, 2008 Skybus spokesman Bob Tenenbaum says the low-cost carrier filed
papers in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware Saturday night.
Skybus was known for its $10 fares and a la carte,
pay-per-service flying. It had been hurt by rising fuel prices and
a slowing economy.
It is the third airline to shut down in the past week, following
Indianapolis-based ATA and Aloha Airlines.
