The Lights are on!
CENTER CITY - April 8, 2008 Walk past the night spot at 116 South 18th Street, and it looks like so many other Center City places.
Inside, you get the idea right away: this is a one-of-a-kind place.
The bar is dominated by a nine-foot chandelier, one that you will not see anywhere else. It took the owner almost two years to get it there, from conception to installation. He spent close to a half-million dollars.
It uses 25-thousand strands of fiber optic cable.
Backstage, a surprisingly-small electronic box makes it possible to change the light display.
Vango plans a red, white and blue display for the 4th of July, and red and green for Christmas.
In fact, you will see a different lighting theme every night of the week.
