Girls, 10, 11, charged in attack

ERIE, Pa. (AP) - April 9, 2008

Police are not naming the suspects because they are juveniles. A juvenile court master did not immediately rule today whether the girls will remain in a juvenile detention center while the charges are pending.

Erie County District Attorney Brad Foulk and the police say they don't recall an attack of his magnitude involving young children.

The alleged victim told police the attackers splashed her 8-year-old sister with water on Thursday.

Police say when the 10-year-old sister told the other girls to stop, they dragged her off some monkey bars and began stomping her head and legs. She remains hospitalized.
