A Heritage Parade, featuring the University of Delaware Marching Band, Newark High School Band and others, is scheduled for Saturday at 3:00, beginning on Delaware Avenue and continuing down Main Street. That will be followed by a city wide toast, with "250th Anniversary Ale," made by Twin Lakes Brewing Co., at various restaurants named as toasting sites.
Sunday's activities include the time capsule being planted at 11:00. There will be a Colonial Market and Petting Zoo on the Academy Building Lawn from 11:00-3:00p.m., the reading of the 250th Anniversary Proclamation at noon on the Academy Building lawn and an already sold out 250th Anniversary Banquet at 5:00p.m. at the University of Delaware's Clayton Hall.
