Smyrna police say a man was arrested after he pulled a knife on an officer who stopped his car while investigating a harassment complaint.

When an officer had 50-year-old Matthew Naylor get out of his car on Saturday morning, police say Naylor displayed an open utility knife, prompting the officer to grab him and put him on the ground.

Police say Naylor resisted arrest and had to be Tasered before he could be subdued and handcuffed.

Naylor was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during a felony and eight other offenses and was held at the Smyrna Police Department until his blood-alcohol level lowered.
