The Flyers announced that Biron and his wife welcomed a baby daughter early Monday morning, just before 8 a.m.
The girl, who is so new her name hasn't been decided yet, was delivered by Caesarean section at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees. Doctors set the operation early so that Biron could attend practice for the next playoff game against the Washington Capitals later.
The Birons have two other children. He was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres a year ago.
The Flyers defeated the Washington Capitals 2-0 in the second game of their NFL playoff series Sunday.
