Charges reduced in student's death

READING, Pa. (AP) - April 15, 2008

Kenneth Kline and Terry Kline still face third-degree murder charges in the Sept. 7 death of Kyle Quinn, a 19-year-old sophomore from Warminster.

Prosecutors in Berks County reduced the charges at a pretrial hearing Tuesday. They also withdrew a conspiracy charge against the Kline brothers and a third suspect, Timothy Gearhart of Allentown.

Gearhart still faces a first-degree murder charge in the case. Police have said Gearhart hit Quinn with a table leg during the attack on West Main Street a few blocks from campus.

Police have said the victim was apparently chosen at random.
