Mayor's cat found in home's walls

North Arlington Mayor Peter Massa's wife, Val, says "Max" was found inside a wall Thursday morning. The 20-pound Maine Coon had been missing since Tuesday.

Val Massa says doesn't know how "Max" got in the 5-inch hole under the stairs. The cat was dehydrated and hungry, but otherwise fine.

The mayor paid $10 for borough Administrator Terence Wall to set up automated calls asking for help finding "Max" from the town's voters on Wednesday.

The Massas had also offered a $500 reward for the 14-year-old cat.
