Students injured in bus accident

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - May 14, 2008 The accident happened at the intersection of Thornton Road and Townsend Road in Northeast Philadelphia.

Police say a white Lexus ran a red light while exiting Woodhaven Road, hitting the school bus.

The bus driver tried to avoid on-coming traffic and crashed into the woods.

One adult and four students were transported to Frankford Torresdale Hospital.

The children are pre-k students who were coming from the Special People School in the northeast.

All of the injured are listed in good condition, according to officials.
