At first, investigators weren't sure why the driver died. But later, they found a single gunshot wound behind his right ear.
The scene is the 1800 block of North 20th Street.
The motor was still running when the driver was found shot to death, slumped behind the wheel, outside the Montgomery Townhouses.
The driver was last dispatched to North Taylor Street at 8:30 Saturday night, which is less than a mile away.
There's no word on whether any money was taken, or on the identity of the victim who died trying to earn a living.
