The contractor for Philadelphia labor boss John Dougherty has cut a deal in court.

Electrician Donald "Gus" Dougherty has pleaded guilty to providing free renovations to the home of a powerful Philadelphia labor leader.

The two are NOT related, but are longtime friends.

Federal prosecutors say Gus Dougherty did illegal favors for a high-ranking electricians' union official.

John Dougherty, head of the electricians' Local 98, is also the subject of a federal investigation, but has not been charged with a crime.

Gus Dougherty had previously pleaded guilty to 98 counts of tax evasion, bribery and related offenses.

He faces up to five years in prison when he's sentenced in August.
