TIMELINE: Recent shootings involving Philadelphia police

PHILADELPHIA - February 13, 2009

June 14, 2009: Officer Ashley Hoggard was wounded in the shoulder early Sunday morning. Police say /*Ashley Hoggard*/ was wounded around 2:30 Sunday morning. He and his partner responded to gunfire near the intersection of 13th and Somerset Streets outside Franchise Sports Bar and Grille, which has been the focal point of gun violence before.

February 26, 2009: A plain clothes police detective was shot as he served a warrant in Philadelphia's North Philadelphia section. The officer walked into the hospital after being driven there. The suspect was shot and killed.

February 13, 2009: Philadelphia police officer John Pawlowski was shot and killed in the Olney section of the city.

November 17, 2008: A Philadelphia police officer, Sgt. Timothy Simpson, is killed in a crash with a suspected drunk driver while responding to a call

September 23, 2008: Two Philadelphia Highway Patrol officers are shot in North Philadelphia. One of them, Officer Patrick McDonald, is killed. At least one suspect is shot and killed. McDonald would later be posthumously promoted to sergeant.

September 5, 2008: Officer Isabel Nazario was killed when her police cruiser was involved in a crash with an SUV that was being chased by police.

May 3, 2008: Officer Stephen Liczbinski is shot and killed while in pursuit of a suspect from a bank robbery.

October 31, 2007: Officer Chuck Cassidy shot and killed when he walked in on a robbery at a West Oak Lane Dunkin Donuts.

October 30, 2007: Officer Mariano Santiago shot in the shoulder in Center City.

October 28, 2007: Officer Sandra Van Hinkel wounded in the leg in a shootout in University City.

September 24, 2007: Rookie Officer Richard Decoatsworth shot in the face at a traffic stop in West Philadelphia.

May 8th, 2006: Officer Gary Skerski killed when a lone gunman robbed Pat's café in Northeast Philadelphia.
