Crash in Delaware kills 4

GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) - May 4, 2008

Delaware State Police say it started about 8 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of State Route 9 and State Route 30. A sport utility vehicle apparently rear-ended two cars that had been stopped at a red light and then swerved into the path of a pickup truck.

Police say the SUV rolled over and caught fire. Three people in the 2001 Chevrolet Suburban died in the crash.

The SUV initially struck the back of a 2001 Chrysler Sebring driven by 29-year-old Rolanda Ayers. The car went off the roadway and rolled over several times. Ayers was killed in the crash.

Investigators believe alcohol was a a factor in the crash. The roadway was closed for four hours after the incident.
