The new owner of the Santa Monica Pier's Ferris wheel says he plans to resurrect the attraction in Oklahoma City, though he hasn't pin-pointed the spot.
Grant Humphreys plunked down $132,000 for the ride in a 10-day eBay auction, beating out five others in a bidding war that went back and forth through 35 offers.
The buyer had to agree to come get it.
The real-estate developer says he expects to find a good home for the ferris wheel in one of the "walkable communities" he's developing.
With its 20 gondolas and 5,392 light bulbs, the wheel has provided some three million ocean-view rides since 1996 when it was installed in the Southern California beach community.
