The project was scheduled to be finished by next Tuesday, but the rainy spring weather has put the project behind schedule. Work will resume May 27 and is expected to be finished in the first week of June.
The 19-month road-widening project is costing $9.7 million. The project involves a 2.7 mile portion of the highway between Route 24 and the Five Points area near Lewes.
