South Jersey cancer victim gets "auto" help

VINELAND, NEW JERSEY But 21-year-old Miguel Nunez now has a much easier ride, thanks to some folks who repaired his Acura.

He received a big surprise when he came to pick up his old dented car. A group of his friends in Cumberland County got together, along with some caring citizens like Carlos Martinez of Matt Blatt Auto, decided to do their own version of "Pimp My Ride."

Nunez's car had been burglarized recently, and needed new paint and body work. He got all that, plus a new stereo, leather seats, wheels and an engine rehab.

Nunez has been battling osteosarcoma, which is a type of bone cancer. He actually beat it once, but it came back and is now attacking his lungs.

Unfortunately, the car burglary happened just a week before his last surgery to remove a tumor in his lung.

Despite all this, his fight just got a little easier, thanks to many local merchants and friends who pitched in on this effort.
