Police in Lake Oswego, Oregon, report responding to complaints about a dog barking incessantly for about an hour late at night.
Sergeant John Brent found what he calls a little dachshund barking ferociously in the middle of the street.
The dog wouldn't let Brent pass or leave.
Thanks to Annie the hot dog, the officer discovered her owner had fallen and hit her head in a nearby yard.
Authorities say Pamela Fischer has some physical limitations and couldn't get back on her feet.
But now she's doing fine.
