The grand dame of the F-16 fleet isn't going to the scrap yard after all. The nation's longest flying F-16 fighter has logged more than 7,000 hours in the air over the last quarter century, including multiple combat tours.

Since 1994 the Lethal Lady has been on duty with the Vermont Air National Guard.

It was due to be retried, but fans of the Lethal Lady wanted it saved rather than junked. Now, Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy says the Air Force has given permission for the oldest F-16 to go on display.

The Vermont Air Guard will get to keep their old gal, as a museum piece.
