A food service contractor for about 20 Connecticut school districts and private schools is adding Fizzy Fruit to the menu.
Pieces of oranges, apples and grapes are pumped with carbonation to give them a soda taste.
Eight-year-old Dakota Lancey likes it.
He's a student at Danbury's South Street School and says the fizzy grapes tickle his throat.
Meg Kingston of contractor Sodexho says the kids go crazy over the Fizzy Fruit.
The Hartford Courant reports Fizzy Fruit will also be offered in stores, for about two dollars a serving.
