Young family escapes S. Jersey house fire

PITTMAN, NEW JERSEY - May 27, 2008

A South Jersey family escaped an overnight fire that has gutted their home.

The blaze broke just before midnight in the 400 block of East Holly Avenue in Pittman, Gloucester County.

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting through the roof of the single home.

The parents and two small children who were in the house, managed to get out safely.

A firefighter was treated at the scene for a minor injury. The house is badly damaged.

Investigators are looking for the cause.
