Police search for clues in motor inn attack

WYNNEFIELD - May 29, 2008 It happened just before 10 p.m. at the North American Motor Inn at 4444 City Avenue in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.

Police say the victim is a senior at Kensington High School who told her family she was going out of town. They don't know why she ended up in a third floor room at the motor inn, where she says she was bound with a shirt, raped, and slashed across the neck. The woman remains in the intensive care unit at Jefferson University Hospital.

Police say a several calls were made from a cell phone found in the room, and they are seeking search warrants based on the information from the calls. Detectives believe that the attacker was known to the victim.
