Obama picks up Ohio superdelegate
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - June 3, 2008 Rep. Joyce Beatty, a superdelegate who had been on the fence the
entire campaign, endorsed the Illinois Democrat on Tuesday over New
York Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Beatty says Obama brings energy and an excitement to the race
that inspires people.
Two senior officials have told The Associated Press that Clinton
will concede the delegate race to Obama Tuesday night. They spoke
on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to
divulge Clinton's plans.
The former first lady will stop short of formally suspending or
ending her race. She will pledge to continue to speak out on issues
like health care.
