Carjacking suspects crashes into store

Delaware State Police are investigating a wild car chase that ended late Friday night in Wilmington when the fleeing vehicle struck an innocent motorist then crashed into a store.

Sources at the scene tell Action News that a Delaware State Trooper on patrol observed a vehicle that was stolen during a carjacking in Reading, Pa. The vehicle was spotted driving on Route 202 near the Concord Mall around midnight.

State Police gave chase and the vehicle continued on route 202 into Wilmington where the suspect driving the vehicle struck another vehicle in the 2100 block of North Market Street before careening into the Fry Korner Chinese Restaurant located at 2106 North Market Street.

There were 3 employees inside of the restaurant that were not injured, 2 juveniles inside of the store were injured. The driver of the stolen car was also injured and faces numerous charges.
