Bikini ban gets lifted

KANAB, Utah (AP) - June 12, 2008

The City Council in Kanab, Utah, banned bikinis at a new public pool.

But now officials indicate the one-piece swimsuit requirement is all wet.

City Councilwoman Nina Laycook says the bikini ban wasn't intentional.

She says the regs will probably be changed at the panel's June 24th meeting, in time for the pool's July 4th opening.

But Laycook says theirs won't be an anything-goes pool.

She wants string bikinis and thongs to be barred from poolside.

Guys will be allowed to wear Speedos.
