Newark looks for new Chrysler plant use
NEWARK, Del. (AP) - June 12, 2008 The first members of the City of Newark Chrysler Redevelopment
Liaison Team are City Councilman Paul Pomeroy, Mayor Vance Funk and
Interim City Manager Roy Lopata.
Officials hope to designate the property off Delaware 89 near
Interstate 95 the "Chrysler Opportunity Site" and use that term
in its updated comprehensive plan. The designation would permit
industrial use, but could also allow new development.
Part of the team's job will be to determine possible uses for
the site, Pomeroy said.
