Arrest made in school bus shooting

WILMINGTON, Del. - June 13, 2008 The 16-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday after being pinned as the shooter by citizens working with the officers at the street level.

When officers approached the boy they found 5 bags of cocaine in his possession.

Police say while in custody the suspect admitted to the bus shooting back on June 5th, but claimed that he was shooting back at a subject that had just robbed him. Detectives say there is no evidence or witnesses supporting his claims.

The juvenile was charged with Possession of cocaine, Assault 2nd degree, 3 counts of Reckless endangering, 2 counts of Criminal mischief, and weapon offenses.

He was transported to New Castle County Detention Center for lack of $11,000 cash bail.
