It all started in the 1100 block of Susquehanna Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday.
Police responded to the scene and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
While police were investigating, several shots were fired inside a home in the 800 block of Girard Avenue. Inside, they found a man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police say he was the gunman in the attempted robbery.
