Former school custodian accused of 2nd assault

READING, Pa. (AP) - June 18, 2008

Forty-three-year-old Fernando Torres is lodged in Berks County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail. He was arraigned Tuesday on aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and other charges.

Reading school district officials say Torres was hired as a custodian in March 2006. He is suspended without pay pending termination. He's accused of assaulting a 9-year-old multiple times in a Reading residence in April. Police say the assaults were just recently reported.

Torres was free on $25,000 bail on statutory sexual assault and related charges in January and February assaults on a 13-year-old attending an after-school program at Gateway School for the Arts.
