Teen gets 3 life sentences for triple homicide

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) - June 17, 2008

Seventeen-year-old Alec Kreider received three consecutive life sentences Tuesday after his guilty pleas.

Police say Kreider broke into the suburban Lancaster home of Thomas and Lisa Haines early on the morning of May 12, 2007, and killed them and their 16-year-old son, Kevin. Detectives say Kevin Haines was Kreider's intended target.

Police investigated the killings for a month before Kreider allegedly confessed to his father.

Tom Haines was a salesman and Lisa Haines was a preschool teacher.
