Tomatoes coming back

LOUISVILLE, KY.; June 17, 2008

On Saturday, McDonald's said it would 'phase in' tomatoes again, starting next week.

Today, Yum Brands, the parent company for Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, and Long John Silver's says it will begin to re-supply its restaurants with tomatoes.

They are coming from areas that have been cleared of the salmonella risk.

Yesterday, U.S. health officials cleared tomatoes grown in Baja California. Tomatoes from from Pennsylvania and New Jersey farms have also been labeled safe to eat.

The Food & Drug Administration still isn't sure where the contamination happened.

So far, 277 people in 23 states have gotten sick.
