June 22, 2008

Drexel Athletic Department confirmed Sunday that last Wednesday freshman Max Brindle of Wayne, Pennsylvania died in an accident. Officials said Monday that Brindle was riding a bicycle at the time of the accident, but did not have any more specifics about what lead to his death.

Brindle was a student in Drexel's business school.

Max grew up in Wayne, attending Radnor High School for two years. He then transferred to the Salisbury School in Connecticut.

Brindle was a standout athlete, being named a First Team All-New England selection as well as being his team's Defensive Player of the year. He was also an All-League selection in football, and Salisbury's Defensive MVP at linebacker.

So far there's no word on what caused the crash that claimed Brindle's life.
