Judge OK's delay in Corzine e-mail release

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - June 24, 2008

Superior Court Judge Paul Innes granted the stay in an order signed Monday and released Tuesday by the court.

Corzine's administration requested the stay so they can appeal Innes' May 30 ruling that deemed e-mails Corzine and his staff exchanged with Carla Katz as public information. Innes ruled their relationship "created a clear potential for conflict."

The ruling stemmed from a lawsuit filed by Tom Wilson, the state Republican Party chairman. Wilson questioned whether the e-mail tainted state worker contract talks.
