Kindergartner left at wrong address gets $13K

SALEM, N.J. (AP) - July 4, 2008 The family of Jamar Johnson Jr. reached the settlement with the Wyshinski Bus Service after the 5-year-old boy was dropped off at the wrong place last September.

The student at Lafayette-Pershing Elementary School was let off about a mile from his home despite a tear-filled plea with the bus driver.

The boy's mother, Adriane Allen, says her son was left in a place he had never been and he had no idea how to get home. She says he wandered around for more than an hour before someone found him.

As a result, she says he suffered post traumatic stress disorder and still refuses to ride a school bus.

School district superintendent Joseph Massare says the incident was an unfortunate wrinkle on one of the first days of school but was soon ironed out.
